Independent Researcher & Blogger

Izhar Ahmad Danish

Izhar founded Speedometera, builds its tools and writes its guides. He researches how phones measure speed, GPS accuracy and speed units from primary sources such as W3C, NIST, GPS.gov and UNECE.

What Izhar does here

Speedometera is a one-person project. Izhar writes every guide, builds the speedometer and calculators, and answers reader messages. There is no separate editor or technical reviewer, so instead of a second pair of eyes the site relies on checks anyone can repeat:

  • Primary sources. Unit definitions come from NIST, GPS accuracy figures from GPS.gov, browser behaviour from the W3C Geolocation specification and speedometer rules from UNECE and national regulators. Each guide links to the sources it uses.
  • Tested maths. The speed, unit and tire formulas live in small code modules covered by automated Vitest tests, which must pass before any release. The methodology lists every formula and threshold.
  • Reader corrections. Errors reported through the contact page are checked against the source and fixed, and significant changes are noted on the page.
